Joliet finishes season on a high

Joliet girls’ volleyball swept aside their opponents to give themselves a boost going into the District 4B tournament at Shepherd High School this weekend. 

The Lady J-Hawks first defeated Roundup during their Pack it Pink and Senior night, 25-16, 25-20, 24-15.

The team made 23 kills with Makenna Bushman on 11, and Joelle Luoma 7. There were 30 assists Shayla Webber on 12, Luoma 10, and Merrin Schwend 7.

Altogether there were 7 aces, Webber with 4 and Brooke Miller 2 and 47 digs, 

Skyler Wright on 9, Webber and Miller with 8, Luoma and Bushman.

Bushman also made 2 blocks.

Red Lodge were the next team to feel the Lady J-Hawks force, going down 25-13, 25-16, 25-6.

Bushman and Kyelynn Coombe combined to get 16 kills, as Webber, Schwend and Luoma made 30 assists. 

In aces, Bushman, Miller and Webber collected 12 while Wright got 13 digs. 

Blocks were shared between Bushman, Coombe, Wright and ChelSea DuBeau.

Joliet will face the winner of the Roundup, v Red Lodge game at Districts, Nov. 1 at 1:30 p.m.
