Joliet Food Pantry partners with Town Pump

The Joliet Food Pantry is pleased to again announce their partnership with the Town Pump Charitable Foundation to help our hungry neighbors and friends over the holiday season. Between now and November 30, a portion of all monetary donations made to the Food Pantry will be matched by Town Pump.
In the past year, the Joliet Food Pantry has helped about 110 families who have experienced hunger and food insecurity in the communities of Joliet, Silesia, Edgar, Fromberg, Boyd, and some areas of Roberts.  With a monthly budget of about $900 (all through donations), they distribute over 15 tons of food annually.
The organization’s mission statement is to “provide monthly food baskets to those in need,” and, according to President Elaine Nowak, that need continues to rise. “Our community is so generous, especially at the holidays,” says Nowak, “and we’re so grateful to Town Pump for this extra help this time of year.”
In addition to monthly food baskets, the Joliet Food Pantry also provides an additional holiday basket for both Thanksgiving and Christmas, so these match funds from Town Pump will be put towards providing these additional meals.
Cash, checks, and food donations can be dropped off at The Food Pantry on Mondays from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., can be taken to The Bank of Joliet, or mailed to The Joliet Food Pantry, P.O. Box 230, Joliet, MT  59041. All donations are tax deductible.
Anyone in need is welcome to show up at The Joliet Food Pantry on Mondays for a monthly basket. The only requirement is some form of ID. Nowak notes that some people just need a little help through a rough spot, and others – often families with small children – need assistance for longer periods.  For however long the need, the Joliet Food Pantry is there to help. If you have questions, please call Elaine Nowak at 962-3132.
