An emotional football game was played out amid a heavy atmosphere at Joliet High School last weekend as the town came out to pay its respects to 16-year-old Paul McKay who died in a car crash on Oct. 25. The 8-Man Southern play off game between Joliet and Scobey was swamped with homages to the Joliet student who wore the number 70 on his football uniform. One end of the field carried his number in both rock form and paint, t-shirts were emblazoned with ‘Play For Paul’ and his number and name were painted on cheeks and arms. Even his helmet (above) nestled quietly on the grass at the Joliet encampment.  After the game a memorial dinner was held to honor McKay and was attended by both teams.
