In June 2020, Joliet Head Football Coach, George Warburton, secured a donation from the Stockman Bank towards anew scoreboard for the football field.
The new scoreboard made its own debut at the first home game against the Shelby Coyotes, Aug. 28. The previous scoreboard limped through last year’s season with multiple failures, and worked due to the sheer will of diligent facility crew members. Terry Cory, the local representative for Daktronics, jested with the Joliet Superintendent, “Yeah, I think there’s only one other school in Montana with an older scoreboard than you.”
Many Joliet stakeholders were pleased with the upgrade, including Coach Warburton, “It was a great feeling looking up at the amazing new scoreboard throughout our first game. It gives our entire field an updated look, and our whole team and community could not be more grateful to Stockman Bank for their generous donation. It will be appreciated for many years to come!”
The next home football games in Joliet are Sept. 11 and Sept. 25 against Ennis and Twin Bridges. Spectators interested can adhere to social distancing guidelines and join in person or can follow from afar via the NFHS Network.
