Joliet X Country Amazing

The Joliet XC runners had an amazing meet at home on Saturday.  The weather worked with us for those few short hours and we were able to have a wonderful showing.  Thank you to all of the volunteers and those who came out to support us on a cold day!  Our middle school boys had a great day.  Bryce Williams placed 4th with a time of 9:29; Ceston Dimond achieved his PR with a time of 10:46; and Keith Frank finished with a time of 12:18.  Katelyn Bancroft represented the middle school girls very well with a finishing time of 13:40.  For JV Girls Alaina Harris placed 2nd with a time of 25:32 which is also her PR; Emily Deines placed 5th with a time of 26:38 which is also her PR; and Annalea Seymour placed 7th with a time of 27:45 which is also her PR.  The JV Boys also had a really good race.  Triston Snell placed 11th with a time of 21:36 which was also his first race of the season; Riley Simons placed 14th with a time of 24:28 which was also an SR for him; Brigham Smith placed 15th with a time of 24:47 which was also an SR for him; and Rockwood Frank placed 16th with a time of 26:47.  The Varsity Girls also had a great day!  Megan Deines placed 17th with a time of 24:07 which is also her PR; Peyton Whitehead placed 18th with a time of 24:19 which is also her PR.  The Varsity Boys also had a great race day.  Jakob May placed 1st with a time of 17:23 which is also his SR; Bryant Dimond finally achieved his goal for the season with a time of 19:39 which is his PR; and Riven Fike also achieved his PR with a time of 21:45.  We are all looking forward to what the next three weeks bring!

    Ross Orchards, located at 111 North Street in Fromberg, is proud to announce the opening of a farm stand this Fall. The orchard will be open Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sundays noon - 5 p.m. starting Sept. 21 and closing Oct. 13. The orchard is working in conjunction with the Last Chance Pub and Cider Mill and Red Lodge Ales to offer fun, family-friendly events.   Every weekend apples, fresh apple cider pressed with apples from the orchard, apple pastries, local honey, food, hard cider, and beer will be available.  There will also be pumpkins and a variety of local produce for sale. Additionally, each weekend will have a different event. Sept. 21 - 22 – Cider and Salutations yoga 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Sept. 28 – A farm to table dinner at 5 p.m. catered by the Last Chance Pub’s chef Kevin McNourlin. The dinner will feature local foods paired with cider. Contact info@lastchancecider.com to reserve seats (limit 40) Oct. 5 - 6 - Kidz Dayz. Bounce house, pumpkin carving, face painting and tractor rides through the orchard. Oct. 12- Orchard run 5k. A family-friendly run/walk through Ross Orchards. Sam Hoffmann, President of Red Lodge Ales, remarked, “it has been fun to get to know John, Laura, Hilary, and Elizabeth Ross over the last ten plus years. Together we have pruned, picked apples, and made cider on a home brew level and now commercially.
