Joliet XC improve on times

The Joliet XC team had an amazing showing on Saturday in Billings.  Each runner improved their time on their second race of the season.  

Jalyn Songstad completed her race in 24:48; Peyton Whitehead came in at 26:38; Megan Deines finished at 27:15; Emily Deines finished at 29:46; and Annalea Seymour completed her race at 31:45.  

The boys had just as good of an improvement.  Jakob May completed his race at 17:29; Bryant Dimond finished at 20:12; Riven Fike finished at 22:55; Nathan Ovitt completed his race at 24:59; and Brigham Smith was right behind at 25:00.  

For the boys JV Riley Simons led with a finishing time of 26:44; Rockwood Frank was right behind him at 26:46; and Caleb Miller finished for the JV at 32:30.  

It was a nice day for a race and the whole team is looking to improve even more throughout this season.

    Ross Orchards, located at 111 North Street in Fromberg, is proud to announce the opening of a farm stand this Fall. The orchard will be open Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sundays noon - 5 p.m. starting Sept. 21 and closing Oct. 13. The orchard is working in conjunction with the Last Chance Pub and Cider Mill and Red Lodge Ales to offer fun, family-friendly events.   Every weekend apples, fresh apple cider pressed with apples from the orchard, apple pastries, local honey, food, hard cider, and beer will be available.  There will also be pumpkins and a variety of local produce for sale. Additionally, each weekend will have a different event. Sept. 21 - 22 – Cider and Salutations yoga 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Sept. 28 – A farm to table dinner at 5 p.m. catered by the Last Chance Pub’s chef Kevin McNourlin. Bounce house, pumpkin carving, face painting and tractor rides through the orchard. Oct. 12- Orchard run 5k. A family-friendly run/walk through Ross Orchards.
