Lady Rams make it two for two

The Red Lodge Lady Rams had a good week, defeating Park City 70-31 and then Shepherd 51-43.

The Lady Panthers were no match for Red Lodge, suffering turnover after turnover and made to pay for much of the time. By the half the Lady Rams were 35-16 to the good and never let up on their flustered opponents as they collected another 35 2nd half points.

Red Lodge’s passing moves sliced through the battered Panthers who didn’t help themselves with some wayward passing and a fair amount of butter fingered displays.

The Lady Rams enjoyed themselves especially Kylie Kelly who rounded the evening off with 14 points and the Cortner sisters, Portia and Zoe who netted for 22 points. Meadow Smith got 9 points, Emma Ivenson 7, Taylor Hardiman and Shandy Castellini 6 each and McCall Allen 4.

Shepherd was up next and was taken out 51-43. A 2nd quarter spurt enabled the Lady Rams to get in front at the half, 26-17 and despite a 3rd quarter lull, the Lady Rams restored orders in the 4th to win.

Z. Cortner scored an impressive 27 points with Hardiman backing up with 13, Kelly and Allen both secured 5 each.

The Red Lodge boys were not so fortunate with their games, losing to the Panthers 49-24 and Shepherd 74-40.

Against the Panthers, the Rams were able to stem the tide by the 4th quarter but a lack of attacking verve put paid to any chances of finding the net.

Tucker Kane shone through with 13 points as Kaden Myrstol got 4, Austin Heimer 3, and Elijah Reynolds and Jay Jetmore 2 each.

Against Shepherd the Rams improved, leading the 1st quarter 15-10 and going into the 2nd half only 7 points down. A 2nd half blip had the team losing their way and the game as they conceded 44 points to 17.

Reynolds led the scoring with 9, with Heimer and Corby Mann on 8. Jetmore scored 5 points.
