Special to the News

The Lady Scouts ended September with two games.  The first was with the ladies from Joliet.  If you could only see one game this season, this was the one.  Two teams that knew what they were about on the court, back and forth, hard hitting, loud blocking, and some improbable digs and saves on both sides.  For the fans it was tense, lots of fun, and in the end it was almost sad that one team had to lose.  One fan said, “These two should play every week, it was awesome volleyball”.

Match one was the introduction to what was in store for the evening, both clubs having some seemly hard kill shots, only to have them pop back up on great digs.  The score in all of the matches was a seesaw of up by two, down by two, with a few scoring runs.  In the end the Lady Scouts were the winners of match one.

Match two was a nail biter for the Scouts; the Jayhawks played well and were ahead for most of the match.  But as the magical number of 25 approached, they were neck and neck, Bridger got to 25, but Joliet was at 24, (you have to win by a margin of two points) the Scouts got the point and the win.  The third gave us some more great volleyball, with the ladies from Bridger winning.  As the girls got on the bus they were a lot of “WOWS” and “That was fun”, not just in winning but rather the competition the Jayhawks gave them.  “Thanks Jayhawks for a fun night”.

Friday night we hosted the Roberts Rockets, this was our third meeting this year. The Scouts came away with a three game sweep.  In the coming week we will play Belfry and Absarokee, come out and watch a game.
