Laura Elizabeth “Beth” (Dutton) Prinkki

Laura Elizabeth “Beth” (Dutton) Prinkki 91 of Columbus died Tuesday morning, Nov. 14, 2017 in Meadowlark Assisted Living in Columbus of natural causes.
She was born Sept. 28, 1926 in Hastings, Iowa the daughter of James and Emma (Wagner) Imel. She received her schooling in the Indian Creek grade school and High School in Garfield County High School in Jordan completing her Senior Year and graduating from Alexander High School in Newell, South Dakota.
She then returned to Montana and attended Eastern Montana Normal School in Billings received her teaching certificate. She returned to Indian Creek School where she taught. She was united in marriage to Doc Dutton on July 14, 1945 in Billings. They moved to Red Lodge and later divorced.
In August of 1964 she was united in marriage to Eli Prinkki in Red Lodge and they made their home on a dairy between Red Lodge and Roberts, Montana, where they raised their family of her three children and his four children. In the mid 2000’s they moved into Roberts to spend their retirement. He preceded her in death and she remained in Roberts
Laura was a Life Member of the Eastern Star and the Community Church in Roberts for many years.
She is survived by sons Robert (Linda) Dutton of Tomico Alberta Canada, Daniel (Rhonda) Dutton of Alberta Canada, Larry (Beverly) Prinkki in Arizona, John Prinkki, Jim (Judy) Prinkki and Ron (Patty) Prinkki all of Roberts, Montana; daughter Eileen (Polo) Lira in Oregon; 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Laura was preceded in death by her husband Eli, her parents, two brothers, one son Glen Dutton and one grandson Nathan Prinkki.
A Graveside Memorial Services for Laura E. Prinkki will be held in Aug. 25, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the Red Lodge Cemetery. A picnic to follow at Kaleva Park. Cremation has taken place and the Cloyd Funeral Home of Lewistown is assisting the family.
Friends are asked to make memorials to the Meadowlark Assisted Living in Columbus or the charity of their choice and they may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home. Condolences for the family may be posted online at
