Lawrence D. (Larry) Loughney Sr.

Lawrence D. (Larry) Loughney Sr., 80, of Roberts, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5 from complications follow- ing a medical procedure at Billings Clinic in Billings, Montana.

He was born June 13, 1938, in Flint, Michigan. He lived most of his life in Mon-tana, including Red Lodge, Billings, Kalispell, and Rob- erts. For the past 13 years, he enjoyed winters in Yuma, Arizona. Larry spent his lifetime working in the trucking industry in various positions. He retired in 1999 from Motor Power Equipment Billings, Montana.

Larry was predeceased by his parents, George and Ercel Loughney. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Dorothy; his four sons Mike (Gayle), Bud / Larry Jr., Jeff (Sheri) all of Roberts, Mon-tana, and Tim (Dan) of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota; two sisters Ginger (Parker) Tate of Billings, Montana, and Janet (Mark) Vincent of Roberts, Montana; five grandchildren Stephanie (Kevin) King, Jayme (Ben) Jares, Anthony Loughney,

Greg Loughney, John Lough- ney; five great-grandchildren Berkley and Cecilia Jares, and Emma, Jonny, and Hailey King; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 11, 2019 at Smith-Olcott Funeral Chapel in Red Lodge.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an organization of choice.

Following parade there will be a lunch  at the Red Lodge Elk’s Lodge 11 a.m. Memorial Service at Red Lodge Cemetery 1:30 p.m. Parade in Roberts followed by Memorial Service at Roberts Cemetery. For further information contact Kenneth Beggs, Commander Carbon County Post 17 at   *The Clarks Fork American Legion Post 71 and the Joliet VFW Post 5748 will be doing Memorial Day services Monday, May 27. Rev. Robert Reed of the Joliet Baptist  Church will be the Speaker of the day.   The schedule for the day will be: 9 a.m. Services at the Gebo Cemetery. 9:30 a.m. March through Fromberg Main St. 10 a.m.   Services at Rockvale Cemetery 11 a.m. Services at Joliet Cemetery 11:30 a.m. March through Joliet Main St. A potluck lunch will be held at the  Joliet Community Center following the services.  Everyone is welcome to come. Any veterans who would like to help who haven’t been contacted can show up at the Gebo Cemetery at 8:45 a.m. Memorial Day or call Rich Pierce at 962-3320 or Jody Stene 962-3779.
