Melanee Claire Rae Baretta, passed away April 25, 2018, Highlands Ranch, Colorado.

Melanee was the daughter of Henry and Rose Rae. She was born on Feb. 21, 1934 in Washoe, Montana, where she was raised and then moved to Red Lodge to finish high school.

She graduated from Billings Deaconess (now Montana State University-Billings) with a Registered Nursing degree in June 1955. That same month and year she married her high school sweetheart Eddie Baretta, husband of 44 years. She was chief cook and bottle washer to Eddie and her two sons all the while working as a nurse. She was an incredible care giver to her family and friends. She loved cooking and baking many of her mom’s recipes, wood working (whittling), ceramics, golfing, needle point and hand looping rugs.

Melanee is survived by her sons (Mark and Steve), their wives (Susan and Rita) and two grandchildren (Madeline and Frank) and her beloved Shitzu (Monty, 14 yrs. old we think).

Mom’s cremated remains will be returned to Red Lodge at a time to be determined. The family is grateful for the condolences but declines flowers and donations. If you would like, make a gift to your favorite charity or simply have a quiet moment to remember this great lady. Peace be with you and your family.
