Mental Illness discussion in Red Lodge

Are you concerned about Mental Illness? Do you have questions about it or want to just have a better understanding of the subject? There will be a free presentation, Nov. 4, at Old Roosevelt School, that will be open to the public to come and learn about Mental Illness and have an open conversation about this topic.
The event runs from 10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. and lunch is provided. The event is called ‘Family and Friends’, and the presentation will inform the community about, warning signs, brain biology, communication, and self-care in a campaign to promote awareness of mental illness and eliminate the stigma.
Sage Henderson AmeriCorps VISTA with the Red Lodge Area Community Foundation is hosting this event in partnership with the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
Alongside this event, she is developing a mentoring program for adults with special needs, partnering with Domestic and Sexual Violence Service, the Red Lodge High School’s counselor, Cindy Louma and special education teacher, Michele Chouinard, and parents. With the help from members of the community, Sage will work to bring mental health education for youth and connect more clients to resources.
Sage Henderson started her service at the Foundation as an AmeriCorps VISTA at the end of July 2017 with a project focusing on "supporting, educating and connect those suffering from mental health obstacles to available services." If you have any questions or want to get involved please contact Sage by email at sage@rlacf.org, call 406-446-2820, or stop by 122 S Hauser Ave.
