Mixed week for Joliet

Over the course of two days both Joliet teams went through some trying times with the school losing out to Roundup and the Red Lodge girls in some tight games.
The boys were defeated at Roundup, Jan. 12, by five points 56-51 despite leading through three of the quarters. The final 8 minutes saw them overhauled 22-11. Ry Olson hit 25 points, with Taylor Rowlison on 12.
Likewise the girls’ team fell short by 11 points having led marginally at the half. The 2nd half saw the Panthers come together, holding the Lady J-Hawks at bay and collecting 31 points to Joliet 19 to take the game 52-41. Tayler Wright scored 11 points with Vanessa Nowak and Merrin Schwend on 8 each.
The following night the Joliet girls fell short once more losing by 10 to Red Lodge 53-43. A topsy-turvy games saw the J-Hawks take the first quarter 15-9 only for the Lady Rams to take the second 14-8. The second half saw the Rams take both quarters 15-10 each causing the damage. For Red Lodge Taylor Hardiman scored 16 points with Zoe Cortner on 14 and Kylie Kelly on 10. Schwend got 13 points for Joliet, with V. Nowak on 11 and Kiera Steffan at 8.
The Red Lodge boys suffered their second defeat in two days, faliing to Joliet 70-31. The J-Hawks zoomed into a commanding first half lead of 45-14 and despite a rally by the Rams in the second half there was too much ground to make up. Rowlison lead the scoring with 17 points with Olson scoring an impressive 37. For the Rams Kaden Mystol got 10 points with five other players all on 4.
