New Neighbors

Five families in August were welcomed to Red Lodge by Linda Fisher of the Red Lodge Newcomer Service. One chose not to be included in this article. Each one received a welcome packet, compliments of the local business community. Please welcome these new families:

• Sue and Jeremy Renfro moved here from Edmond, Oklahoma. Sue was a Corporate Tax Accountant and Jeremy was working in the oil fields in Houston and now in Williston, North Dakota. Their older son, CJ lives in Houston, and they have two daughters, Meadow and Skyler and two younger sons, Ethan and Caden that live in Fort Worth, Texas. Chase who is eleven and Maddi is thirteen live here in Red Lodge and will be attending Red Lodge Schools. They have a blood hound, Tink and a boxer, Tucker. They enjoy hiking, sightseeing in the mountains, and Sue is a bow hunter and they both enjoy hunting. They are anxious to try all snow sports and fishing and coming from a large city are looking forward to all the outdoor activities.

• Amber Hamilton moved here from Billings. She was transferred to our U.S. Post Office, plus on weekends she is still a CNA at the Billings Clinic in Billings. Amber is hoping to find a CNA position at Beartooth Billings Clinic. She has two sons, Jason who is in 5th grade and Joel is in 1st grade, plus a daughter, Jessica that is in 3rd grade. Their poodle is called Bogart. The kids all enjoy riding their bikes and hiking and Amber enjoys crocheting.

• Karen Walmsley is from Minden, Nevada where she is a social worker for the Department of Veteran Affairs. She has family in Red Lodge and loves our mountain town. Karen has a daughter attending MSU-Bozeman, majoring in environmental science. Her dogs name is Kenia. Karen likes to hike, cross country and downhill ski, kayak, camp, backpack and is thinking about trying golfing.

• Jenny and Nigel Travis recently moved here from Ahsahka near Orofino, Idaho. Nigel was a park ranger. Upon looking for a transfer they discovered Red Lodge and immediately fell in love with the area. He is a public safety officer at St. Vincent in Billings and Jenny will be the personal care assistant at The Willows. They have two sons: Gavin just turned two and Rowan has started kindergarten. They have a new puppy, called Alfie. As a family they enjoy doing anything outside, especially hiking. They are amazed at all the wildlife here in Red Lodge, especially with the bull moose often grazing in their yard.
Please note: anyone new to Red Lodge who would like to receive a free Welcome Packet or if you would like to be a business sponsor may do so by contacting Linda Fisher, Red Lodge Newcomer Service at 425-2626.
