Do you work in Red Lodge? Tired of renting? Are you Income qualified? If the answer is “Yes” to these questions, you are the perfect candidate to purchase this brand new home built for the Red Lodge Workforce. Come down to our open house June 27 at 4 p.m. for a special ribbon cutting and a premier walkthrough of the home. Refreshments will be available from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.

We are so happy to say we now have a home for sale for our working class. This 1478 Sq. ft., 3 Bedroom/2 Bathroom home is located at 311 Cooper right here in town and 100 percent move in ready. The sale price is $180,000 and the home features include Energy Star appliances, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, off street parking, a storage shed, upgraded insulation, 200 amps electrical, and fencing.

Red Lodge, as a small rural resort town, has a serious work force housing problem. The people who work hard to support our community, such as teachers, nurses, service industry employees, often can't afford to rent or own in our community. The Workforce Housing Steering Committee (Lenders, Realtors, Insurance, The City, Businesses and highly engaged volunteers) has been working hard for years to address the lack of affordable housing in our community.

To ensure this home is affordable to you and stays permanently affordable, we have used the Community Land Trust model, which means Trust Montana owns the Land and the buyer owns the home. This makes the home affordable to you as well as the next workforce buyer, yet still gives you the amenities of owning your own home. As you make improvements to the property you will increase the value of the home and your own equity. Chances are your house payment could be equal to or less than what you pay in rent each month.

Are you ready to get started, have questions or curious about the project? Join us for the Open House on June 27th and see it for yourself! We can also discuss income eligibility, options for various down payment and closing cost assistance as well as the next steps of buying your home.
