Over $2 Million in Scholarships for RLHS Grads

Thursday, June 13, 2019

For a tiny mountain community, there is a lot of money passing to the young and the gifted of Red Lodge High School’s Class of 2019.

They were offered over $2 million in scholarships to be exact. They also received lots of awards and recognition. The amounts received this year for Red Lodge High School graduates range from a few hundred to $40,000 over four years to Amaya Rodriguez and the outstanding series of offers to Shane Vomund.

Vomund was offered scholarships from six schools from $42,000 over four years to MSU Bozeman, to $580,000 over four years from the United States Air Force Academy. He accepted the Air Force which meant he also had to turn down a generous offer from West Point Academy for $450,000 over four years. Ana Dye received the President’s Volunteer Service Award for outstanding merit. Such is the caliber and character of the Class of 2019 from Red Lodge High School.
