(Upper Right) Lucky Homewood receives his Grand Marshal buckle from 4th of July Parade director Glory Mahan at the Civic Center parking lot July 2.
Homewood ranches in Frannie, Wyoming, and has been participating in the Red Lodge Independence Day parades since 1971. He and his family have been riding from Frannie to take part in the parades since 2005. Homewood’s father used to have a cattle drive from Luther down to Frannie.
“I’m really, really honored,” said Homewood.
Homewood also wore ornate spurs (below) to the parades this year. He won them at the recent Rodeo Banquet.
Both the buckle and the spurs were made by Montana Silversmiths of Columbus.
(Lower Right) Mahan also honored members of the Church of the Rockies, who volunteer to help with the parade.
Both groups also received specially created pins for the occasion.
