Public meetings set on 2018-19 hunting seasons

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks has scheduled six January meetings in south central Montana to present information, answer questions and accept comments on proposed 2018 and 2019 hunting season dates and regulations.
Hunting dates and regulations are adopted biennially for deer, elk, antelope, moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goat, bison, black bear, mountain lion, wolf, turkey, upland game birds and migratory birds.
Earlier in December, the Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission approved tentative season rules, which will be the subject of the meetings. Those proposals are available online by going to http://fwp.mt.gov end clicking on the link for public Comment Biennial Season Setting.
The meetings are set for:
Roundup - Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Ambulance Barn
Billings - Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 7 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel
Harlowton – Thursday, Jan. 11, at 6 p.m. at the Public Library
Red Lodge – Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 7 p.m. at the Middle School Cafeteria
Columbus – Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m. at the High School Cafeteria
Big Timber – Thursday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Public Library
Comments may be submitted at the meetings, online or by mail to: FWP Wildlife Division, “Attn: hunting season proposals,” PO Box 200701, Helena, MT 59620.
Comments are due by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018. The commission will review comments and recommendations and adopt final regulations at its Feb. 15, 2018 meeting in Helena.
