Red Lodge's Trey Allen hustles his way through the Colstrip defense. Allen got 6 points against them.

Making their first appearance in seven years at the Divisional Class B basketball tournament, the Red Lodge boys’ game plan was dented by those they met.

What worked well at Districts came undone against Colstrip and Joliet but only by the slimmest of margins that suggests that next year this team will venture much further at the business end of the tournament.

The Rams opened against Colstrip who pushed the boys hard, notching up a 22-14 lead by the 1st quarter and added a narrower lead of 15-13 by the 2nd.

Red Lodge bounced back brilliantly to take the 3rd quarter 19-9 and tie up the game 46-all and set up a finale deserving of a tournament like this.

Back and forth the teams went but ultimately it was Colstrip that took the spoils, winning by 8 at 66-58.

Kaden Myrstol came through with 17 points, Austin Heimer with 13 and Corby Mann 11. Following up Trey Allen and Jay Jetmore made 6 each with Elijah Reynolds on 5.

The defeat sent the Rams into a loser out game with the Joliet J-Hawks.

Evenly matched again, both sides went in at the break with the J-Hawks only 2 points ahead at 23-21.

It was all there to play for as the teams set off for the 2nd half but despite keeping close tabs on Joliet, Red Lodge were allowing the odd stray point to get away from them and by the final buzzer had fallen by 8 points again to an opponent, with Joliet winning 54-46.

Myrstol got 16 points passed the Joliet defense with Mann on 15 , Heimer on 7, Jetmore on 5, Allen 2 and Reynolds on 1.
