Red Lodge Hoop Shooters excel at Big Timber meet

On Saturday Jan. 4, Sweet Grass High School Gym in Big Timber hosted the District shootout of the Elks Hoop Shoot. Contestants representing Lodges #246 Livingston, #463 Bozeman and #543 Red Lodge competed for places in the Montana State finals to be held in Livingston on Saturday, Feb. 1. 

Red Lodge players faired extremely well, coming first in three out of six divisions. Paisley Kastner of Belfry won the 8-9 year old girls by sinking 16 of 25 free throws and Blake Krukenberg of Red Lodge won 8-9 year old boys with 17 of 25. Hailey Croft from Roberts won 12-13 year old girls with 17 of 25 and Colter Chamberlin of Columbus was runner-up in the boys 12-13.  

The National Finals will be held in Chicago on April 18.
