Roberts Rockets on triple wins

The Lady Rockets of Roberts defeated all in sight last week making it 10 wins and 6 defeats overall and putting the team into the 4th spot in the 4C Volleyball standings with 7 points.
The team defeated Plenty Coups 16-25, 25-23, 21-25, 25-22, 15-11; Belfry 25-11, 25-16, 25-15; and Billings Christian 19-25, 25-9, 25-18, 25-9.
A total of 12 games that saw some big stats; 80 kills in total with McKenzie Pitts making 26 of them, Emma DeVries 14 and Avery Walker 6. For assists, the team had 49 with Walker claiming 48 of them. In terms of aces, DeVries made 16 with Walker on 7 from 46 served.
The Lady Rockets made 188 digs, DeVries on 42, Maddie Allen on 41, and Pitts on 17.
Blocks made numbered 12, Pitts on 8 and DeVries on 3.
“They are a really young team and we have done a bit of growing this season as a team,” said Coach Melissa Bertolino. “I am really proud of how far they have come and very excited to see how far they will go.  The upperclassmen have provided some good experience and leadership for the freshmen, they are getting better every game.”

The schedule for the day will be: 9 a.m.   Services at the Gebo  Cemetery. 9:30 a.m.   March through  Fromberg Main St. 10 a.m.  Services at Rockvale  Cemetery 11 a.m.   Services at Joliet Cemetery 11:30 a.m. March through  Joliet Main St. A potluck lunch will be held at the  Joliet Community Center following the services.  Everyone is welcome to come.   Any veterans who would like to help who haven’t been contacted can show up at the Gebo Cemetery at 8:45 a.m. Memorial Day or call Rich Pierce at 962-3320 or Jody Stene 962-3779.
