Shirley Jean Boyer

Shirley Jean Boyer, 66, of Laurel, Montana, passed away unexpectedly at Billings Clinic on the morning of Nov. 7, 2019 with her daughters at her side.  

Shirley was born a New Years Baby, Jan. 1, 1953, in Red Lodge, Montana, a daughter of Leo and Mary Johnson.  Shirley grew up on the family homestead located in Roberts, Montana, and graduated from Roberts High School in 1971. She married Orval (Skip) Boyer where she was blessed with her two daughters.  

Words cannot describe what a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend she was.  Shirley’s family and friends were her passion and delight.  Her witty humor, radiant smile, and kindness will be missed by all who loved her.  

Shirley will be loved, remembered, and survived by her two daughters Barbara Downing (Clay) of Bearcreek, Kristie Anders (Rob) of Park City, her grandchildren, Brittany Berwick (Terry), Cody Mann (Bailey), Casey Downing, Matthew, Devon, and Austin Dennis, and Emily Anders, great-grandchildren Mason and Bud Berwick and Brook and Clark Downing, her brother Lee Johnson of Billings, and many nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her sister Darlene Dykstra.  

A funeral service will be held Dec. 9, 2019, at the Roberts Methodist Church, Roberts, at 1 p.m.
