Songwriter Festival announces two new grant programs

Thursday, May 2, 2019

The Red Lodge Songwriter Festival Inc., RLSWF, is expanding its annual music education grant program to all Public School Music Departments in Carbon County.

The goal of this grant is to provide monetary support to the Music Departments of Public School in Carbon County for developing their music education offering, thereby fostering student interest and participation in music.

Applications for 2019 will be accepted from April 15, 2019 - June 1, 2019. The RLSWF Grant Committee will award grants at the Red Lodge Songwriter Festival on Saturday, June 22, 2019.

Additionally, we have created a annual music scholarship. This past spring we suddenly lost a great supporter of the RLSWF, David M Kirby. To honor the contribution to our mission by Dave and his wife Carol, we have created the David M Kirby Music Scholarship. This scholarship will be award to a student who is pursuing a secondary education at a the University or College level with a major in music. The inaugural scholarship of $1,000 (one thousand dollars) will be awarded to a deserving student for their studies.

Since the inaugural year in 2016, the RLSWF has gifted over $20,000 to the Red Lodge Public School Music Department. Red Lodge Songwriter Festival Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization.
