Successful presentations highlight importance of teen driving

(Above) Bridger FCCLA Vision Zero group wrapped up a successful set of presentations to 5 schools on the importance of smart teen driving.  Vehicle accidents are the number one killer of teenagers in Montana. These presentations were meant to inform high school students on distractions and the effects of alcohol on driving.

Schools participating in activities were Bridger, Laurel, Fromberg, Reedpoint, and Shepherd. Each school was given a banner stating that the support Vision Zeros goals of zero deaths and zero serious injuries in vehicle accidents.

Presentations included a pre/ post test, PowerPoint, Montana Highway Patrol trooper speaking to the students, then walking and a driving obstacle course with the he drunk driving goggles.  They also tried driving while SnapChatting.

This is the second year of the project. We were able to expand and improve our project through a Vision Zero grant. Thanks to Montana Department of Transportation, Ford Driving Skills for Life, Montana FCCLA, and the Bank of Bridger.
