Summit Volleyball U16 team won the Laurel Shamrockfest last weekend.

Summit Volleyball Club’s U16 team won their way through the day on Sunday, March 17 to be the tournament champions at the Laurel Shamrockfest.

We were able to produce wins against teams from all over Montana, Wyoming and North Dakota.  Our athletes had an impressive day and we are extremely proud of them.

Our stat leaders are: Bailey Binando with 93 assists, 2 Kills and 3 Aces on the day.  Liddia Fontaine with 42 Kills, 33 Digs and 23 Aces.  Kitrie Frank with 36 Kills, 7 Solo Blocks and 10 Aces.  Macelyn Lauritzen with 23 Kills, 14 Digs and 4 Aces.  Emmalia Sager with 18 Kills, 7 Solo Blocks and 6 Aces.  Zoe Avent with 4 Kills, 5 Digs and 5 Aces.  Brooke Binando with 4 Digs and 1 Ace.

The statistics show the effort put forth by this team, but what is does not show is the support these young ladies showed each other.  They cheered each other on, supported and lifted each other up when we got down and motivated each other when needed.  We cannot be more excited about the talent and commitment of this team.  Our younger Summit teams also had impressive showings this weekend.

Our U12 team competed in their first tournament of the season.  The team consists of 3rd through 6th graders and are the future of our program.  They are learning valuable skills and getting a lot of play time.

Our two U14 teams are gaining momentum each week and we expect more and more wins as the season progresses.  They are producing wins even though we are missing several players due to illness, injury and ski team commitments.

Our U14 (1) team won their way into the Gold Bracket of the Laurel Shamrockfest and ended coming in an amazing third. This team has tremendous potential and will be a great addition to our high school program next year as it is a group of highly athletic and talented 8th graders.

Summit Volleyball Club will next play at our own Mountain Mayhem Tournament here in our hometown of Red Lodge on March 23-24.

Tournament play starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday with our U12 team playing at the Red Lodge High School and our U14 teams playing at the Roberts High School on Saturday – and our U16 team will be playing as a U18 team at the Roberts High School on Sunday.

We would love to see the community come on out and support these athletes.
