On Thursday, July 8 Sam’s Tap Room hosted the Edward Jones “Team Red Lodge” Rally for the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support, and research. Local artisan, Nick Kosorok, unveiled his newest creation in a gorgeous Carpathian Elm Burl top table for the team to raffle from now until the Walk in September.

Sam’s Tap Room presented Doc Tari, a one-man band in the style of New Orleans busking. The crowd of over 100 enjoyed fine weather, good music and great beverages in the Backyard Beer Garden. “This gentle and caring atmosphere is exactly what we wanted for this event,” said Edward Jones Financial Advisor, Wayne Engebretson. “The Alzheimer’s Association continues to provide valuable support services to individuals living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers, while also supporting critically needed research. We are aware of the dramatic impact Alzheimer’s has on individuals like Nick and Karen, families and companies, so we are committed to support the Alzheimer’s Association.”

Just like too many Montanans, Karen Kosorok, the furniture artisan’s wife and partner has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, so they are personally committed to the cause as well. “This disease can create so much darkness, but out of the dark comes only light, like events such as this. I am so grateful for the support Karen and I have received and will need in the future as well.”
