Thelma M. Woody, 90, died on May 13, 2019 at her family home in Boyd.  

She was born to Laurence and Edna Hughes outside of Boyd, on Feb. 11, 1929 with her twin Velma following close behind.  They attended Victory and Boyd School, and graduated from Joliet.  

Thelma went on to Eastern MT College and completed a teaching degree.  

She met and married the love of her life, Ron, in 1954, married him in 1956, and spent the next 63 years with him.  

She taught school at Victory, and Joliet, and remedial English at Silesia and Boyd.  She retired from teaching to raise her children and help her parents, then owned and ran the Boyd Store with Ron for 10 years.  

Thelma loved her family, friends, flowers and gardening, fishing and camping, as well as jigsaw and other puzzles. She was a member of the Ladies VFW and Boyd Senior Center.  She loved her daily phone calls with her BFF Marge, visits with her family and the Golden State Warriors.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Hughes and twin sister Velma Boese, as well as many family members and friends.

Thelma is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ron, daughter Karen (David) Greenwood, son Darrel (Vicki) Woody and Grandchildren Megan and Tyler Greenwood and  Jordan and Loren Woody.

Special thanks go to Beartooth Hospice and her special cousins, Chuck Hull, and Bob (Debbie) Hull.
