Turkey Trot 2017

The Carbon/Stillwater Tobacco Prevention Program, a service of Beartooth Billings Clinic, along with Beartooth Recreational Trails Association (BRTA) will host the 8th annual “Turkey Trot”, a community 5K fun walk/run to stomp out tobacco use. The event will be held Nov. 23, (Thanksgiving Day) at 10 am. As part of the “Great American Smoke-out”, participants will meet at the Edgar Gruel building at the Fairgrounds (located at the south end of Rodeo Road off Highway 78) and then walk or run the Airport Loop of the Rocky Fork Trail, near the Red Lodge Airport. The trot will start and end at the Edgar Gruel building at the Red Lodge Fairgrounds. There is no charge for the run, but participants are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for BareTooth Cupboards.
The Great American Smoke-out is an annual day of action promoted by the American Cancer Society and challenges people to stop using tobacco, if only for one day. The day raises awareness of the many effective ways to quit for good. Montanans who smoke will join others nationwide to give up cigarettes and other tobacco products for 24 hours. This one-day effort could mark the first day of a life free from tobacco addiction for Montana smokers and spit tobacco users, and the start of a tobacco-free Montana. For assistance in quitting the tobacco habit, call the free Montana Quit Line, 1-800-QUIT-NOW.
