Verlynn Adamson, local artist, died on July 6, 2019 of heart complications.  He was born Dec. 27, 1949 to Pauline and Morris Adamson in Douglas, Missouri.

Verlynn is survived by his son, Cheyenne Adamson, of Red Lodge, Montana, his daughter Aisha Bangert and her husband Jonathan of St. Louis, Missouri, and his brother Darrel Adamson. Glenda Adamson was his late wife.

He was many things to many people. Not only an artist, but also a writer, Verlynn penned a memoir called “A River Runs Around It”, which recounts his many adventures growing up in Billings, travels in Alaska and Mexico, and learning the trade of finish carpentry.  He earned a degree in psychology from MSU, which informed his philosophy of kindness and compassion.

A favorite activity was to get out in nature and paint, and he had just opened The Verlynn Adamson Studio in Red Lodge.  He was looking forward to enjoying this milestone in his life.

Verlynn was a good man, a great friend, and, as his son Cheyenne says, an even better Dad.

May he rest in peace.
