Today, Wednesday, September 5, our Lord has called home our most loved Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother and Great-great grandmother.

Voncil Marie Heare was born to Aaron and Bertha Hare on January 15, 1920 in Floydada, Texas.  At age 9, Vonnie’s mother passed away and she was raised by an Aunt until she graduated from Amarillo (TX) High School.

In 1944, Vonnie and her future husband met, each in Mercury convertibles.  Their two week courtship before marriage in Childers, Texas lasted for 72 years until Ralph’s passing two years ago.

She helped on the ranch raising their adopted children, Viki and Van, whom they dearly loved.  She was an officer in the Cow-belles and volunteered at the Red Lodge Hospital and the Arts Guild until age 93.  Vonnie loved to serve.

Vonnie was preceded in death by one sister, Dutchie Edelsman; her beloved husband, Ralph; and her granddaughter, Cayla.

She is survived by her son, Van (Georgene); her daughter, Viki Kelly (Pat); five grandchildren, Shawn, Sharla, Arla, Susie and Erin; ten great-grandchildren, Hunter, Landon, Thor, Scott, Natalie, Eric, Brooke, Jacob, Deija, and Daven; one great grandchild, Mira; and 5 nieces and nephews.
