Zachariah Stanley Murray

Our shining star, Zachariah Stanley Murray, was called back home to his heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. He leaves behind a great chasm in our lives, but also a trail of little sparks of joyful light, carried in the hearts of the countless many who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him. He will continue to shine in the world through the simple but profound wisdom he sowed in all of us who remain.

Born Jan. 5, 2000, Zach spent his childhood years exploring the pastures and creeks, barns and buildings of our family ranch at the foot of the Pryor Mountains. He knew every inch of every piece of machinery on the ranch and strived to know how they all work. He loved books, maps, puzzles, and animated movies. He was a lover of all things animal and surrounded himself with stuffed animal friends of all shapes and colors, carrying them with him wherever he went and speaking their names with joy.

Zach was a Junior in high school and due for early graduation in May, when he would set off to discover his life-work. His future occupation undoubtedly would have involved using his hands to express his love for animals in some way. Certainly he is surrounded by them now.

Zach is survived by his parents, Lindsay and Sonia Murray of Bridger; brother Taran Murray (wife Kody) of Bridger; nephew and special friend Bentley Murray; Niece Karlie Murray; Grandparents Stan and Ginger Simmons of Billings and Valeria Murray of Billings; Aunts and uncles Cliff and Leslie Cooke, Jeff Murray, Kelly Simmons and Dave and Teri Biegel, all of Billings; and numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by grandparents Jack and Marilyn Murray and uncle Gerry Murray.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Charles Campbell Children’s Camp, P.O. Box 23342, Billings, MT 59104.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, May 4, at the Faith Chapel Broadwater Ave, and Shiloh Rd. Please use the Broadwater entrance.
