As Memorial Day fast approaches the festivities to honor those brave men and women who fought for their country are beginning to appear on the horizon. Both Joliet and Roberts are proudly displaying their affection for their local Veterans with displays of flags and dog tags honoring the Fallen. Joliet has 115 Veterans. The Joliet FFA Chapter members placed the Veteran signs along Highway 212 as part of the Joliet Salute Freedom Project in cooperation with Ladies Auxiliary and the VFW. In Roberts the Roberts Activities Committee installed a staggering 470 salutes to local Veterans. If you would like to include more veterans in this project, please sign up at the Bank of Joliet or contact the Roberts Activities Committee.
