Not only did Joliet football bounce back in style after losing to Ennis last week, they also came from behind to defeat the Tri-City co-op [Hobson/Moore/Judith Gap] who in turn had defeated Ennis earlier in the month.
A tight game finishing 42-36 to the J-Hawks saw Taylor Rowlison complete 6-12 passes for 127 yards with 2 touchdowns and Brett Robinson 1-1 for 22 yards with 1 touchdown.
In rushing Robinson also had 15 carries for 200 yards with 3 rushing touchdowns, one for 49 yards, one for 77 yards, one for 5 yards.
Ry Olson had 5 receptions for 77 yards with 2 touchdowns, one for 19 yards and one for 22 yards.
Robinson had 2 receptions for 50 yards with 1 touchdown for 45 yards.
In defense Robinson had 9 solo tackles and assisted on 12 for a total of 15 tackles with Grant O'Rourke 4 solo tackles and 11 assists for a total of 9.5 tackles.
“He also had 1 sack, 1 fumble recovery and 1 huge blocked punt,” said Coach George Warburton.
Trey Oswald had 4 solo tackles and assisted on 7 for a total of 7.5 tackles and 1 fumble recovery and Declan Sielaff had 3 solo tackles and assisted on 5 for a total of 6.5 tackles.
“We were down by 24 points in the 3rd quarter and our kids never quit. Brett Robinson scored on a 77 yard rushing TD and we got the ball back due to a perfect onside kick by Declan Sielaff, this shifted the momentum and gave us the boost we needed,” said Warburton. “In the next series we scored off of a halfback pass by Robinson and our defense stepped up again with a huge blocked punt by Grant O'Rourke.  Our defense came up huge in this game, they were on the field the majority of the game and never let up. Defensive Coordinator Rob Robinson made adjustments at halftime that made the difference between winning and losing this game.”
“We are going to us this momentum and energy against a 5-1 Lone Peak this Friday for our Joliet Homecoming,” he said.
