Joliet Volleyball J-Hawks

The Lady J-Hawks are still having a great season. Despite losing to Huntley Project 25-10, 25-16, 25-20 last week, they showed their mettle and immediately bounced back to crush Big Timber 25-12, 25-16, 25-20.
In kills Joelle Luoma got 6 and Shayla Webber 5 with Webber also getting 9 assists and 13 digs. Vanessa Nowak hit 3 aces.
Joelle Luoma also got 11 digs, and Tayler Wright 9.
“This was a tough game for us,” said coach Colette Webber. “We knew they were tough. Probably the #1 team in Class B in the State.  We came out timid after being blocked several times and took us till game 3 to gain our confidence back and adjust to their offense. Huntley is our measuring stick.  We know we have a lot of work to do before we can compete with this team. It really comes down to confidence in their abilities.”
Against Big Timber, the J-Hawks hit 41 kills, Webber on 12 and Tysa Oswald-and Makenna Bushman on 7 each. Webber also made 20 assists, shot 5 aces and had 8 digs.
Joelle Luoma made 15 kills and 8 digs, with Vanessa Nowak getting 5 aces and Makenna Bushman 12 digs.
“The girls had a good overall game with Big Timber.  We had a great afternoon with all 3 teams getting wins on the road,” said Webber.
