Roberts’ boys were the shining stars last week restoring a winning touch to the school with a narrow victory over Absarokee 70-67.
Although starting off on the trailing leg the Rockets made a blistering impact on the 2nd 8 minutes of play scoring 27 points to Absarokee’s 13 to give them a healthy 40-27 lead at the half. Immediately after the restart Absarokee fought back scoring 19 points to Roberts 12. This still gave the Rockets a slight edge, 52-46, but they knew their opponents would throw everything at them in the final 8 minutes which they did, taking the quarter 21-18 but falling short overall by 3. Alex Kosel scored 17 points with Ryan DeVries on 16. Jace Weimer netted 12 and Riley Gebhardt and Agustus Dines both got 10. Preston Ehrlich had 6 points.
For the girls, their games didn’t fair so well with them losing 60-26.
In previous games both Roberts team lost to Broadview/Lavina, the boys 90-66 and the girls 43-23.
