The Red Lodge Lady Rams held off a resolute Roundup team to take the 4B District title for the first time in their history last week in Huntley.

Roundup were in front for most of the game and were leading 35-33 with only 30 seconds left before Portia Cortner latched onto a miss by Taylor Hardiman to tie up the game 35-35 and take the contest into over time.

The Panthers now found they could not break the Lady Rams defense although they came close in the final moments until Hardiman regained possession of the ball and ran down the buzzer.

Hardiman scored 13 points including the game winning one with only a minute left in overtime. Zoe Cortner got 11 points.

The Lady Rams reached the summit by defeating Shepherd in their opening game 42-28 and then shocking top seeded team Columbus 31-27 in the semi final.

The match up against the Cougars was a tight affair ending all square at the half 12-12 before the Rams made a 13-8 run into the 3rd. Despite the Cougars hitting back to regain a narrow lead in the 4th, the Lady Rams held out to take the win. Hardiman again lead in points with

12.

The Lady J-Hawks failed to find a berth at the Southern B tournament despite taking down Huntley Project 61-58 to give them a semi final game against Roundup. The J-Hawks could not muster the same energy and fell 54-23 to the Lady Panthers.

Roundup quickly took control of the game and had made the contest safe by the 3rd quarter.
