Marilyn Luoma

Marilyn Luoma, passed away at her home on July 27, 2018 in Sterling, Virginia. She was born to Charles and Marguerite Schuster on Nov. 25, 1939 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Charles (Chuck) Schuster.
Marilyn met her husband to be, LeRoy Luoma, at a USO dance in 1961 while he was stationed at a missile base in Pittsburgh. Son Chris was born while LeRoy was stationed in Germany. Upon completion of his military service, the family travelled to Roberts, Montana. They bought a farm, built a house and welcomed daughter Terry. With little knowledge of rural life, Marilyn mastered the knowledge of how to help run a farm from feeding an army of farm hands to learning how to run farm machinery.
In 1987, the farm was sold and they moved to Sterling, Virginia. Marilyn worked a few years behind the deli counter at Food Lion and then moved on to become a Sales Associate at Marshalls for a number of years until her retirement in 2012.
Marilyn is survived by husband LeRoy Luoma, son Christopher (Chris) Luoma, and a daughter Theresa (Terry) Luoma, a nephew, Kevin Shuster, and a niece Karen Schuster-Renk.
In lieu of flowers please donate to a cancer charity of your choice.
The family would like to extend their gratitude, heartfelt appreciation, and thanks for the love, prayers and support from family and friends. Special thanks go out to the Hospice team who helped us and her during her last months.
